The Darkest Giveaway

Posted by Rachel Vincent

I really meant to do this earlier, but with my release, my new YA sale, and the Romantic Times convention, time just got away from me. But here it is!

Last month I was lucky enough to score an early copy of Gena Showalter's The Darkest Night, the first in her Lords of the Underworld trilogy, and I'm giving it away here. With chocolate, of course. ;-)

About the book: The Darkest Night...

All her life, Ashlyn Darrow has been tormented by voices from the past. To end the nightmare, she has come to Budapest seeking help from men rumored to have supernatural abilities, not knowing she’ll be swept into the arms of Maddox, their most dangerous member – a man cursed to die every night, only to awaken the next morning knowing he has to die again later.

Neither can resist the instant hunger that calms their torments. . .and ignites an irresistible passion. But every heated touch and burning kiss will edge them closer to destruction—and a soul-shattering test of love . . . .

About the chocolate: (which I've dubbed) The Darkest Chocolate...

Far beyond the notion of what the casual chocolate eater might call a "chocolate bar," the extraordinary new chocolate tablet fulfills the need for the purest percentage of chocolate pleasure. Offering the most intense, most definitively decadent cocoa experience, each set includes our distinctive 75% Sao Tome Dark Chocolate with Cocoa Nibs, 72% Solid Dark Chocolate, 72% Dark Chocolate with Almonds, and 50% Dark Chocolate with Orange. For purists, a truly eye-opening experience. 4 bars (14 oz.) [I will substitute a milk chocolate prize if the winner doesn't like dark chocolate.]

How to enter:

  • Leave a comment here
  • One entry per person
  • If you comment anonymously, you must sign your comment.
  • Comments must be received by 11:59 pm central standard time, on Friday, April 25, 2008. At that time, I will close the comments thread and choose a winner by a randomly drawn number.
  • Please do not comment here if you don't want to be entered. That makes it harder for me to count the votes.

You may enter if:

  • You aren't related to me or to Gena Showalter
  • You haven't already read The Darkest Night or own a copy of it

Entries from outside the continental US are welcome, but a non-resident winner may have to accept an alternate chocolate prize if I can't find the designated chocolate to ship myself, since Godiva won't deliver outside the country. Also, I can't promise any chocolate shipped by me won't melt in transit. Sorry. ;-)

For more information about Gena's Lords of the Underworld series, click here to see the covers, read the back cover blurbs, find excerpts, and to access The Darkest Fire, the e-book prequel, which is already available.
