For my birthday, I got the most awesome one-cup coffee maker from #1! It's intended to cut back on both my coffee consumption and on waste. Also, it's just really cool. It's shiny and silver, and has more parts than the space shuttle, I swear! But it's surprisingly easy to operate.
I also got a beautiful triple chocolate cake (which I had only one slice of and am even now resisting) and...horrible neck pain. A literal pain in the neck. Somehow, I've re-irritated a disk or vertebra, or something in my neck, and it hurts to move my head. A lot. I'm hoping to be much better before I leave for the Authors in Motion bus tour at the end of this week, but this pain has forced me to put exercise on hiatus. Which is never good, for someone whose job requires her to sit for something like 12 hours a day.
I know I'm getting older, but I'm not that old!
News:
- I'm still waiting on confirmation from my publisher, but it looks like Soul Screamers (at least the first two books) will be released in the UK in the next few months. When I have final dates and covers (rumor has it they're getting different covers) I'll post it all here.
- I have the semi-final cover for MSTSteal (got it while I was at BEA) and those of you who come see me in person on the Authors in Motion tour can see it! Also, you might get a Soul Screamers t-shirt, if you ask really, really nicely. And if I have room to bring them in my suitcase... ;-)
- Dates, times, and locations for the Authors in Motion bus tour can be found here. If you live anywhere near any of these areas (IN, IL, WI), the other authors and I would love to see you! :( I hate living in the UK, it's like I live in ths stone age, everything seems to take forever to come over the pond. Thankfully I've alredy got the 3 Soul Screamers as I couldn't wait for them. Are you planning on doing any promo anywhere in the UK? As I'd love to meet you, I've got loads of questions to ask and I'd love a book signed.

Happy Belated B-Day Rachel!! I am going to be at ALA this weekend so I won't be able to catch you on tour, but I am glad I got to see you at BEA. I am also currently avoiding cake at the moment, it is Key Lime and it is in the refrigerator, so I am trying to keep that door closed... Anyways, I am also on Net Galley so I will be looking out for the Alpha promotion too. I hope your neck feels better soon and good luck with the writing.
