Today I'm a Dame!

I blogged at The Deadline Dames today, about the difference between writing novels and writing short fiction. To find out what short fiction I'm writing at the moment, head over and check it out!

In other news, this past week I deleted my MySpace account, after notifying all my "friends" about where they could go to keep up with me instead. Sorry MySpace users, but (for me at least) that forum was dead. No one's ever there.

I also tried to switch from a Facebook personal profile (which limits the number of friends I can have and lets people post those stupid games and polls on my wall) to a "page." I was under the impression that I'd have better control with a page. But so far, I have not found that to be the case. In fact, I kind of want to make this "page" a character in a book, so I can find some new, horrible way to kill it.

The problem is this: I can't delete my personal profile without losing the page. So now, instead of having one neat, orderly home on Facebook, I actually have two. And I can't get the 3rd party html apps to work on either of them.

Grrr. Facebook, I AM NOT PLEASED!

Blogger and Twitter remain my online forums of choice, because of the ease of use. Twitter is fast and short, and Blogger lets me use html and post whatever I want on my sidebar. Which LJ won't let me do, even with a paid account.

I'm still pleased with Formspring, except for the complete lack of archiving structure that the ability to tag (or categorize) questions would provide.

So what about you guys? Where do you hang out online? Am I missing something completely awesome and easy to use?

Yeah, I didn't think so. ;-)

Yeah, I have a myspace that I haven't signed onto in months. I haven't used it in over a year and probably should remove it. I don't sign onto facebook often, but it's more of a connection to friends and family than anything else at this point. Though, the publisher I'm now an intern for is a friend on there so it might be wise to sign on more often but think we'll use the yahoo group more.

I like blogger and twitter, but I need to learn how to use blogger even better. I've never been good with html and I really want to have tabs where people can click on to view other pages (like goals and novel descriptions). But I'm too lazy to figure it out just yet.

Anyways. I have rambled so maybe it's time to go delete a myspace page.

I use Blogger just like you Rachel. I have a Livejournal account, but I don't use it. I mainly set one up so I could follow and leave comments properly on other Livejorunals that I follow. Don't remember why I did it that way...

I do that and hang out at The Pride of course!! ;)

I like the Livejournal and use one. I find it slightly easier to navigate and hunt for communities/people... etc. I'm sure in another month or so they'll be some new cool 'it' place to be.

I'm a blogger, twitter, facebooker type... well... Hmmm... actually... I barely mess with twitter and facebook.

But I do have accounts with them! :) I just rarely get on them. How you find the time to write, edit, and socialize I envy! I'm still struggling with adjusting to my new crit group!

Hello Rachel =)

As a blogger I hang on blogger, twitter and of course GoodReads but I also have my perosnnal facebook page.
To help with the game spam and everything, you can the Hide button and choose to hide everything those people post on their wall, unless they post on yours. Maybe that will help?

They're posting games and polls on mine. That's the problem. ;-)

Wow I guess they have time to waste o.0

Hi there, This is my first time blogging. I made a blog for my bookstore today and this is my first post on someone elses site!! We have a facebook and we love it, but sometimes it doesn't give you the freedom to do certain things.

Oo and about the games you can just press the hide button and it gives you two options 1) to hide said persons comments or 2) to hide the application that person is using. So if you don't want to see games, then just hide the games and not the person!

I follow way too many blogs to have much more time to network anywhere else. :( I do hit up Facebook a good bit and I agree about Twitter; it's fast but sometimes so fast you miss the good stuff.
