The good news is that the revisions on IF I DIE look pretty simple. A new opener with a better hook, some clarification/explanation on the climactic chapters, and an expanded ending. Evidently I left a little too much of a cliffhanger. But my editor's reactions to certain events in the book are very...encouraging. This book is a game changer (I know I keep saying that, but it's still true!) for nearly every character in the series.
Are some people going to be mad? Probably. Are some people going to be happy? Definitely. Am I going to get more of that mail that reads, "I laughed/cried/covered my eyes/threw the book/yelled at people who aren't real!" Almost certainly.
Comments from my editor, in the margins of IF I DIE:
- "Wow, Sabine's dialogue must be fun to write!"
- "I've wanted to see this for a long time!"
- "Wow! Wasn't expecting that..."
- "So very cool!"
- "Awww! Heartbreaking!"
- "I'm tearing up!"

In case you can't tell, I'm having SO much fun with the Soul Screamers books, and IF I DIE may be the funniest, saddest, most shocking one yet. IMO. ;)
And yes, I'll post the back cover blurb as soon as I'm sure it's final.
On another topic, #1's been working on my website a bit this weekend, and on Saturday he posted something pretty awesome on the extras page. It's a flash-run version of the Netherworld Survival Guide (penned by Alec during his time in the Netherworld) that was printed as bonus content in the back of the UK edition of MSTTake. Click the small image on my home page, and you'll be directed to the guide. It may take a minute to load.
Once it's loaded (it'll look like a file folder), click and drag the center of the folder to open it. The corners of the pages will curl when you hover over them. Again, click and drag to flip the pages. Careful, though. They can be ripped out. If you accidentally "drop" a sheet, reload the page and you should be good to go.

I know I keep saying this, but it doesn't get less true. In fact, it gets more true every time. Waiting for If I Die is killing me!! I need to know how it's going to be such a huge game changer so bad. I thought I was doing well, working on my issues where I get obsessive waiting for new titles, but alas, I am failing completely when it comes to your work Rachel! ;)

Ah!!! Worst blog post in forever. And by "worst" I mean best, of course. I agree with Cem. This is killing me. I already have some predictions in my head. I've been reading way too much in my life, but I've learned from all the Dame's books that even I can be surprised. :) I want to be your editor. I would do it for free. It would be a good excuse to read your books over and over and over. ;)

I finished the audiobook "My Soul to Steal" today at work. I listen to it for 4 hours straight. I wished someone in the book got slapped more then once. :) I always love the parts when Kaylee is in the nether. I hope shes there a lot in "If I die." And, Avari just doesnt give up, Kaylee must have good energy! I always wonder if Addison will ever get saved. Ooh I guess I will have to wait and find out.

I can't wait for If I Die to come out! I think that, of all the books coming out this year, this one is the one I'm most excited for - and there are TONS of novels on my to-read list! My one wish is that there will be lots and lots of Tod because I love him with all my heart (and then I read Reaper and loved him even more!). Sorry, Team Nash x)

I loved the serries so much. I even sneaked out out to read 30 mins of my soul to steal because i could'nt put it down. I seriously cant wait for "if i die" but i just hope Nash does'nt end up with Sabine that would just kill me and kaylee ends up with Tod that would just break my heart.AS FOR Avari oooh that hellhound needs to get killed! but again if i had a million awards to give to the writer i would do so a milion times over love the series.
