My Zombie Valentine (+ giveaway)

Look what #1 made for me!!!

This’ll make a lot more sense if you go read my guest post on the Borders True Romance blog this morning. Leave me a comment there telling me what you’re doing for Valentine’s Day (or anti-Valentine’s day) for a chance to win a signed copy of Alpha. But stay tuned here, too, because there’s another giveaway in this post.

So, in trying to find my desk glancing around my office, I couldn’t help but notice that foreign editions of my books are starting to take the place over. And in glancing around my blog, I noticed that I haven’t done a giveaway in a while. My solution to both problems is to throw them both together.

From now on (until I run out of foreign editions) I will be hosting a giveaway on my blog every week. The prize will be the winner’s choice of the remaining foreign editions from the list below. The giveaway will run from Monday through Friday of that same week, and a winner will be drawn on Friday and announced the following Monday, along with the new giveaway.
To enter, you’ll have to leave a comment in the post. Sometimes there will be a question to answer. Sometimes not. My blog; my rules.

Speaking of rules…
  • One entry per person
  • You MUST check back in on Mondays to see if you’ve won. I don’t have time to track down winners, so they’ll have to claim their own prizes. If you don’t claim your prize by the following Friday, you’ve missed your shot and your book goes back into the pot.
  • Open to international entries, of course.
  • Each book will be signed by me. (Or someone cooler, if I can make that happen)

For the first weekly giveaway, here’s the list of prizes you can choose from:

Australian My Soul To Take
Australian My Soul To Save
Australian My Soul To Keep
Australian My Soul To
Steal
(x2)
UK My Soul To Take (x2)
French My Soul To Keep (Sauve Mon Ame!) (x2)
US Kiss Me Deadly (YA antho)
Australian Stray
Australian Rogue (x2)
Australian Pride (x2)
Australian Prey (x2)

Obviously, this list will change as prizes are chosen. It will also expand, as I receive new foreign editions. (I’m expecting copies of various books from the UK, France, Italy, Germany, Turkey, Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Australia)

To enter this first weekly giveaway, tell me what you’re doing for Valentine’s Day this year. Or what you’re not doing. (Keep it clean, please.) Also, go enter the giveaway at the Borders True Romance blog for a chance to win a signed copy of Alpha as well!

My hubs and I have tradition for the we started on our first Valentines when we were starving college students. We have kept it alive for the last 16 years. We have a picnic on the floor of our living room and watch a movie from our first Date, Star Trek first Contact. No gifts exchanged just lot sof love and laughs

The boyfriend and I will be going out to dinner. We already exchanged gifts on Sunday. We will probably watch a movie at home as well. Sounds like the perfect Valentine's Day to me! :)

My fiancée and I will be going out for supper and then coming back to watch a movie. I get to pick out what books I want for Valentines, and we eat junk food:) Perfect! hehe

I am doing nothing today. Well, I'm reading and blogging and wasting time on twitter... usual stuff!

My husband and I don't celebrate valentine's day but we always get each other a card. We don't need society to tell us to express our love for each other. We do it on a daily basis.

Unfortunately for me I married one of the least romantic men on Earth. I'm okay with that. I'm spending today watching the movies with romances that always make me smile for their perfection (a lot of Disney cartoons included in here), making a dent in my stack of romance novels that I've been ignoring (somewhat ironically so I could finish your Sifter series) and working on my romance novel. Since it *is* Valentine's Day I might decide to cook dinner. I did buy him a big bag of Skittles even if he hates V-Day. Then again, I buy him candy almost weekly. I don't need romance and flowers and a day to tell me he loves me. I already know that. He *did* do the dishes for me this weekend because I had to work. If that isn't love I don't know what is.

Status Update: Still Single. :)

Every year I try to ignore the pink and frills, until some kind coworker leaves chocolate for the rest of us. I'm full of caramel and peanut butter fudge. Going to roll around and do my homework today. It's just another Monday + chocolate!

No big plans this Valentine's.... Except curling up with a good book, my family and my puppy :) best kind of celebration of love!

I <3 giveaways!

We're not doing anything for Valentine's Day. I bought the hubby a cute card and he gave me a small box of chocolates this morning. I know he bought me something else. He likes getting personalized gifts from Zazzle.com. So, I'm expecting some kind of cute/weird coffee mug or something. :)

I was hoping for some delivered flowers but I didn't see any charges on our debit account so unless he was sneaky and charged them I don't think I'm getting any roses. :( But that's fine because I always complain that I hate how cut flowers wither away in a week.

Hope you have a great Valentine's Day!

I am going to sit at home, eat my chocolate and watch The Bachelor

My hubby & I are not Valentine's people. We will probably have dinner at home with our teenage daughters :)

I bought the little guy a Backyardigans movie for V-day, so I'm making grilled cheese and watching the new movie with him. : )

I spent my Valentine's day printing my dissertation, as I am going to graduate in less than a month. My dissertation and I have a fairly complicated love relationship, you know? We broke up and made up a lot during the past months, it's a love/hate relationship!
Now it's almost over...

Haha nice card!
This Valentine's Day I sat alone and ate cheap chocolate (which tasted bad). Good thing my mum sent me a present to cheer me up! :)

My husband and I try to keep it simple; no expensive gifts (a card and a small, thoughtful gift) and a dinner out! We also make a pact that there will be no "serious discussions" that might lead to disagreements!

Being Auctioned off for charity...

They may not even be able to give me away!

I won't be doing anything special this v-day. Basically, it's a day much like any other for me.

On the other hand, I expect my brother to teach me how to play poker today, he promised me, and I'll keep him to that promise :) Maybe next v-day, I'll hit Vegas with my newfound skills ;)

I plan to spend valentines day with my two year old son were gonna make brownies together and watch disney movies such as snow white and sleeping beauty then im going to read "guess how much i love you" for bedtime.

Not doing anything today. Yesterday hubs took me out for a bite to eat - lots of chocolate was involved :).

Love your zombies!

This year I am having home cooked lasagne with my family and watching The Sound of Music because we're cool like that!

School, work, then watch a few episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (my latest obsession).

My boyfriend & I don't really celebrate valentine's day. Our anniversary is tomorrow, so it feels a little redundant. Tonight I'll be recording Hawaii 5-0 so he can watch it when he gets home. Tomorrow, I'll cook a nice dinner (not sure what yet), and we'll watch a movie together.

The boyfriend is busy today *sad face* so me & the girls are going out to dinner and then ...*drumroll* CUPCAKES! We loveeeee cupcakes =)

Thanks for the giveaway(s)!

Unfortunately, I will be doing what I do every Monday: reading, writing, class, studying. Valentine's Day was slightly more fun in grade school with the mandated valentines for everyone rule, but at least now I don't have to fill out tons of cards!

I have no place this year as I have no Valentine :( so will stay hone and get some reading done.

Sadly, I'm not doing anything for Valentine's Day. Just another regular day/night at home. Very upsetting sometimes, but oh well.

for V-Day this year, my husband is taking me to a nice place to eat, HEAVEN. (http://iloveheaven.co.uk). we dont exchange gifts, but it's our first Valentines Day as a married couple, and im excited about it! :)

We dont celebrate Valentine's day because my husband & I had our first date on Feb 15th. We will celebrate the 18th anniversary of our first date tomorrow. So today is the prelude of our holiday. We actually celebrate tomorrow more than our wedding anniversary. How funy is that? We get each other little presents & anniversary cards. Our children makes us cards. We go out to eat. It is a lot of fun! Today is for our kids to have fun!

For Valentine's Day I am...doing homework! Yeah, I know, I am very cool. :)

I have no plans, my boyfriend kindly washed up and cooked tea for me, so i did buy him come Revels (chocolate) :)

My valentines day was spent (I was yesterday as I'm Australian) trying to explain to anyone who would listen that Valentines day was nothing more than a fabricated holiday made by Hallmarks and florists to make a bit of extra cash.

Do I really believe this? Maybe a little. The reason I preached it on what's meant to be a day of love? Numb my own sad loveless-ness :(

Thanks for running a competition like this ;)

I'm not doing anything. I'm single, so there isn't much for me to do. Valentine's Day has never been anything other than an ordinary day for me. Never received a card, haha!

Great contest, Rachel! And I love the card your husband made you! :)

My husband and I hate fighting the valentines crowd so we had our romantic dinner last night (though, the crowds were still bad...).

Not doing anything special this year. Im along in this one. So Ill go see my family for a few minutes this evening but thats it.

Really, we're not doing anything special. The husband and I have a really bad track record with Valentine's Day (and anniversaries for that matter). Any time we make a special plan -- even just dinner reservations -- something ridiculous happens. Two years ago husband had to get stitches in his face from a bicycle accident. The next year in the ER again.

So, to avoid trips to hospitals and the like, we're staying in. Playing video games (probably something quirky and fun like Little Big Planet 2) and generally just hanging out together.

Eat the heart-shaped cookie that was left on my desk this morning. (:

I'm going to do some homework.
Lucky me.

My fiance and I actually celebrate Valentine's Day a day or two after so we can buy more candy (or a bigger stuffed bear) for the same price. Still a special day - just one or two days later!

Me being a singleton! I'm about to get cozy on the sofa by myself and watch a chick flick, wondering why I can't find romance like the characters. Then after that I'll be wishing my life away till Saturday, when I lad who I fancy comes in to where I work and I try to pluck up the courage to ask him out for a drink sometime.

I am just staying at home with my son.

That is so cute! Sadly my bf had to work today so I am not even going to be seeing him until late tonight. So I plan to take the day to read and watch tv. Lots of shows I need to catch up on.

I'm thinking about baking something. Maybe cookies and a maybe a cake or cupcakes. We're very low on funds this year so it's going to be simple.

Valentine's Day isn't really our thing anyway :) I did make our daughter a card though, she seems to expect something for every holiday for some reason ;)

My husband and I are just staying home for the night with the kids. He is an on the road salesman that we only get to see about once or twice a week. So, him just being home is celebration enough.

Today on velentines day, I passed out treats for my teachers and made funky valentines with my friends! Now that I'm out of school, I'll be surfing the net and waiting out the storm that just blew in!

Great giveaway.
I am doing absolutely nothing but watching tv.
Happy Valentine's Day!!

No big plans today. I'm not really a fan of Valentine's Day, and hubby isn't very romantic either..

My hubby's birthday is also on Valentine's Day so his family and my family are going to Hibachi to eat. We already exchanged gifts which I picked out the books. Then we will come home cuddle and watch a movie. Perfect Valentine's Day!!!

I will be spending Valentine's Day going out to dinner with my gal pals to celebrate the new engagement of one of them. Funny you'd think she'd want to spend the night with him, but she's only going to be a bachelorette for so long right lol. We'll have some laughs and lots of food. It'll be a great Monday night.

i was on my own this valantines day but my dad left me a surprise orange chocolate on my bedside table which was a nice surprise to wake up to :)

watching horror movies with my friends !!!we're really into the horror stuff on valentines!!
so movies and PIZZA!!lots of it!

Hanging out with my kids... Hubby is away on a military mission. One of those missions where we aren't allowed to even contact one another until it is over (sometime April)... So, cuddling on the couch with my kiddos, watching disney movies, and eating popcorn out of the bowl on my prego belly... romantic I know. (smile)

*sigh* i'm alone this valentines so i will be curled up with a good romance.

My family decided to go to the fabulous Maggianos. The food was to die for!!!! I ended up taking home 3 boxes! Haha. We exchanged gifts and gave each other flowers! My mom's birthday is the day after Valentine's Day so we are doing a double celebration tomorrow night!! lots of cake for me.

I'm staying home and I'll read a book later, after I watch a couple episodes of The Good Wife.

For Valentine's day, I'm going to be sitting there and feeling awkward.

I'm going to school, coming home to do homework and eating the chocolate that my best friend gave me. It's awesome, I know!

Hope I win!

This Valentines day was extremly quiet, we just had a nice home cooked meal together, but it ended up being the best one yet, just the two of us!

Sirena McVicar

So I am totally going to be one of those people... I am not doing anything for V-Day today! I totally had a huge presentation in school today which I was so nervous for, so I think that I just deserve a night to slum around the house watching Gossip Girl and eating ice-cream... ;)

Thanks so much for the giveaway- Happy Valentine's day!

My husband and I just exchanged cards. He got our two-year old a card with stickers so she didn't feel left out, and she was super excited and had to stick them on everything at the breakfast table.

Seeing as I do the books in a restaurant, that is the last place I want to spend Valentine's Day! So, I'm making grilled ribeye, herb roasted potatoes, spring salad, and a dark chocolate fudge cake. I may just be the best girlfriend ever!

No big plans for valentines. I'm staying home with my family and we'll probably watch a movie :P

Since my hubby is away every year for Valentines I spend the day with my kids. Unfortunately I have school tonight so I'm not going to have much time with them, but I did get them some yummy candy. Also, I went to my daughters school party.

For this Valentine's Day, I wanted to do something special for my friend, Morgan. Morgan's dad is in the final steps of Pancreatic Cancer. They expect him to die any day now. A bunch of our friends and I got together to try and find a Valentine's Day gift for her to try and brighten her day without her feeling like it was a pitty party. What we got her was small, but it was great to see her smile for the first time in a while. We also made her a card in which our crazy talented artist-friend Sabrina drew Morgan a beautiful picture on the front of the card, and on the inside we wrote "Will you be our Valentine?" in Spanish, and "We love you" in German, French, Russian, Swedish, Irish and Romanian (our friend Breanna had the app to translate it). We all signed the card and gave it to her. To try and hide the fact it's a "We're sorry about your dad" gift, we tried to play on the fact that she's currently single. So we told her that she was now our Valentine. I'm not sure if she caught onto it, but we all do love her, and we will always be there for her. <3

For this St. Valentine's Day, I'm watching "Being Human" on the SyFy channel.

School and a dentist appointment :) Also, searching for Dreams of a Dark Warrior even though it doesn't come out until tomorrow

No big plans for Valentines.. I did have goodies with my co-workers and my awesome crossfit trainer had a cookie cake for gym members... other than that I'm planning on staying home and reading one of my favorite books. dreaming of finding a significant other....:)

I am hanging out with my hubby and kids. Nothing too exciting, but life is good! :)

I don't have any other plans for V day because it's on a Monday and I have school. Silly school, always getting in the way of things. Plus, we have a cyclone warning and I'm flooded in (which is why I'm on your blog and not at school!). And when you're flooded in you're left to your own devices. Which is readin, writing, movie watching, and when all else fails that English assignment that's due Thursday :D

for this valentines day, i do not have someone special :( but i do have the most gorgeous best friend who i have bought a GIANT teddy bear and will be spending the day with :) x

I celebrated my V-day a few days early because I had to work. But I got dressed up and went out with the husband. Then went home and enjoyed the evening in with a homemade dessert. I did get surprised with flowers today though!

Well I plan on waking up and totally pampering myself. Shopping, haircut, etc. Then I will be going out to dinner with my boyfriend. Afterward I will force him to watch a chick flick since he only will once a year!

My fiance works away, in the remote northern reaches of Canada for two weeks at a time, and he's only back today (a day late for valentines), but we are still going to have a small celebration by cooking up some fancy chicken parmasean and tortalini. I hope you had a wonderful valentine's, and thanks for all your wonderful posts.

We had a quiet evening at home for Valentine's Day.

We stayed home with the dog. She got neutered on Valentine's Day :(

This year a new university plan was approved in Europe and now instead of having all the exams in June we have them in February. So all I'm going to do is study, and maybe spend some minutes relaxing with some friends, but mostly studying.
The worst thing is that my birhtday was some weeks ago and all my presents were book, and I don't have time to read them! So sad...!

sheere.dry@gmail.com

I did not do anything this year except read and drink hot chocolate that was great too!

This Valentine's Day I got to help run all the way around town to help my brother plan his Valentine's Day with his girlfriend. I had to pick up the flowers for him and groceries. Other than that, I got to work on my science fair project.

my BDay is Feb 12, so normally, we do "Sweetest Day" [the VDay in october that i'd never even heard of until i moved to Ohio...]

but this year, because i had a HORRIBLE 3-hour-long pre-surgery physical, my guy? got me a HUGE Godiva assortment. we spend hours making bets about what each piece REALLY was [no key for which was what] and the loser, erm... you SAID keep it clean! hehehe

My boyfriend and I went out to dinner and then went and hung out at Barnes and Noble... :D

V-day is all about spending time with the people you love, so although I'm still single (and proud to be!!), I had a blast! My best friends and I sent carnations to a bunch of random people around our school and binged on chocolate like any other person. Then I had a really nice dinner with my family -- pink candles and all! With a slice of caramel pecan cheesecake to top it off, I'd say I had the perfect Valentine's Day! :)

We have a favorite local restaurant we like to go to, but we don't go on Valentine's Day. Why? Because they are ill-equipped to handle the crowd on "special holidays" such as V-Day and neither their food nor the service is up to their usual standards.

Instead, we go several days AFTER V-Day and enjoy a wonderful meal. Fewer people, fresher food, happier wait staff, better experience etc.

His gift to me? He took the watch that has sat on my vanity for 6 months waiting for a new battery to the jeweler and had the battery replaced. My gift to him? I DIDN'T cook him dinner. LOL!

Spent it with my family, made a nice dinner, beef stroganoff and cheesecake and we sat as a family and ate together. :)

A little slow on teh uptake- But Valentine's was also teh day of my hubby's and I's 8th anniversary. To celebrate? We spent it with our family and he gave me a bag of toostie pops and a hand made card. Seriously. I am not a sappy kind of gal, so I was thrilled. He got a hand made card back. :) It was simple, and low key. Perfect.

I bought burgers and me and the hubs watched tv. and then I woke up in the middle of the night with a stomach virus. It was a nasty one too. I am still trying to recover lol but am getting there.

I write a fictionlized love letter/poem on the theme Secret Valentine. Plus watch Supernatural and eat chocolate.
