[Update: I completely forgot that this giveaway was supposed to be limited to US/Canadian residents, and since that was my mistake, I'm going to throw in a second copy of Aimee's debut, which I'll personally ship to one international winner. Of course, it won't be signed, unless you want me to sign her book. ;)]
It's been a while since I've had a guest on my blog, and I couldn't think of a better way to resurrect the idea than by inviting my fellow Harlequin Teen author Aimee Carter over for an interview. And Aimee has graciously agreed to give away a signed copy of her debut novel, The Goddess Test for one lucky commenter!
Rachel: Hi Aimee! Thanks so much for participating in my little interview! And for offering a prize!
Aimee: Hi Rachel! Thank you so much for having me!
Rachel: First of all, our mutual editor tells me your name is not pronounced like “Amy.” Could you please clear that up for me so I can stop making a fool of myself every time I mention you? ;)
Aimee: You’re not making a fool of yourself at all, don’t worry! Technically my name is pronounced “ah-MAY,” but so many people call me “Amy” that I don’t even think about it. So if you want to stick with “Amy,” that works for me!
Rachel: Thanks! Now on to the questions!
So, the Persephone myth! One of my favorites. Have you always been a fan of classical mythology? Do you have a favorite myth or deity?
Aimee: I’m a huge fan of classical mythology and have been since childhood. One of my favorite books when I was a kid was D’Aulaires’ Book of Greek Myths, and I used to pore through it again and again. The myth of Hades and Persephone always fascinated me, not necessarily because of what happened to Persephone, but because I wondered how lonely Hades must have been to have to force someone to marry him and keep him company. As I learned more about Hades – that he wasn’t the evil god that pop culture depicts him as, and that he really did love Persephone – I began to look at that myth in a different way. Hence The Goddess Test, which is really more of a sequel to the myth than a retelling, since it’s about Hades finding a new Queen of the Underworld after Persephone leaves him. As for favorite deities, I’d have to say Athena – she has brains, beauty, courage, and an independent streak a mile wide. Can’t beat that!
Rachel: Goddess Interrupted, the first sequel, is scheduled for February 2012, right? Are you continuing with the same myth in the sequel, or will you be updating another? Any hints? Have you seen the cover yet?
Aimee: Yep, Goddess Interrupted is scheduled for February 2012! The sequel incorporates several other myths, though none are strictly a retelling. They’re more like callbacks to the original myths. It’s hard to give hints without revealing the whole plot, but I will say that there are several new characters, including a few mentioned but not seen in the first novel, and their corresponding myths play a role. I’ve seen the first version of the cover, and it’s utterly gorgeous.
Rachel: Did you always envision this as a trilogy? Did you plot all three books at once?
Aimee: I originally wrote The Goddess Test as a standalone novel, actually, though I was aware that it could be extended into more books if it came to that. It was only after I signed with my agent that I really sat down and did a loose outline of the next two stories.
Rachel: Now for some quick, fun either/or questions about your taste in fiction:
- Love triangle or one true love? – One true love! Though I can’t say no to a good love triangle.
- Brooding, strong and silent type, or quick-witted funny man? – Brooding, strong and silent type, but only by a hair.
- Paranormal, contemporary, historical, or some combination of the three? – I have an odd love for historical, but I will read anything that catches my attention regardless of genre.
- Super strength or telepathy? – Telepathy.
- The truth hurts, or the truth will set you free? – The truth will set you free while going at you with a meat tenderizer.
Rachel: And now let’s talk about writing/publishing:
The Goddess Test is your debut, right? What’s surprised you most about the publishing industry so far? –Aimee: Definitely the amount of creative freedom I’ve been allowed so far. I don’t know if that’s a typical experience or not, but our mutual editor is so wonderful and so receptive to ideas, and the Harlequin Teen team is so respectful. Before all of this, I’d heard over and over again that once you sign with a publisher, you lose all control, but I’ve never once felt that way. And I’m extremely grateful for it.
Rachel: I have to agree, our editor is awesome, and I've experienced that same creative freedom! Is there any aspect of writing for publication that turned out to be exactly like you expected?
Aimee: I’d spent years hearing about how supportive writers are of one another, and I’ve made so many wonderful friends in the writing community so far. It’s really helped me feel like I’m a part of things, and while I’m a very little fish in a very big pond, it’s nice to be able to wave at the other fish and not feel like a fool.
Rachel: What’s your favorite part of the process? (plotting, rough draft, revisions, edits, etc…)
Aimee: It’s a tie between plotting and revising. I love the rush of first outlining an idea and seeing it turn into something tangible, and I absolutely adore revising and editing. For me, it’s a chance to correct the mistakes in earlier drafts and really make the story the best it can be, and I love the rush of pride that comes along with finishing those revisions. Of course, that’s completely shattered in the next round of edits, but it’s nice while it lasts. For me, the most difficult part about writing is the rough draft.
Rachel: Are you making any appearances for this first release? –
Aimee: I’ll be doing a signing in Lansing on June 2 with Leah Clifford, Lisa Desrochers, and Courtney Allison Moulton, and there is also at least one other appearance in the works around the beginning of August. I’ll be sure to post more on my site (http://www.aimeecarter.com/) when everything is confirmed.
Rachel: I hear you’ve sold a second trilogy to Harlequin Teen! Congratulations! Anything you can tell us about that? –
Aimee: Thank you so much! The first book is called Masked, and it’s a dystopian series set in a future America ruled by a rigid ranking system. It’s about an orphaned girl, Kitty, who is surgically altered to replace the Prime Minister’s assassinated niece. Unfortunately for Kitty, she must deal with the dead girl’s secret life, her fiancé, a growing rebellion and a kidnapped heir, along with the knowledge that the Prime Minister will kill to preserve his own secrets. It’s action-packed, and I’m extremely excited about it.
Rachel: Wow, that sounds awesome, and I love dystopian, so I'll probably be bugging our editor for an early copy. ;) Thanks so much for answering my questions!
Aimee: Thank you so much for having me, Rachel!

I like Pan. He's naughty.
And yes, Aimee's hair looks fabulous!
I love all greek mythology, and have TONS of books, fiction and non, about it. my favorites are The Fates.
Aimee, I am absolutely eager to read your book. I really am not too familiar with mythology (it's been too long since I studied it in school). :) But, your hair IS gorgeous! :)
I love Greek Mythology in general, I love the storys and their god/goddess's, to pick just one is difficult but I love Artemis the goddess of the hunt.
I also love reading fantasy books about Greek mythology and would love to read this one, it sounds brilliant.
My favorite character is Nyx. I love the fact that there is a nucking futs Nïx in Kresley Cole books! And yes, your hair does look great, Amy!
My favorite among the greek mythos would have to be Selene.
Others would have to be Amaterasu, Bast and Hecate.
That being said, the book looks interesting and sounds like a good read.
This is a hard one because I love all mythology. Hmmm... Juno from Rome. Artemis, Athena, Hades in Greek. Anubis, Horus, and Isis in Egyptian. Old Man Coyote in Native American. And a ton more. I've been looking forward to reading your book Aimee. And love you hair :)
your hair is pretty!! My hair is just as long but not as dark!! your books look awesome too!w
I love Indian deities. There are alot of interesting ones so its hard to pick a favorite, but Kamadeva might be it.
I kind of love Hercules especially when portrayed by Kevin Sorbo - YUM! By the way, love your hair :).
vsloboda(at)gmail(dot)com
Aphrodite is my favourite beacuse she's the goddess of love :)
and your hair looks really gorgeous aimee!!!
As the "mutual editor" I came to celebrate two authors I really enjoy working with--and whee that they are happy as well! :) I do think there's a great support system for authors within Harlequin and without, and I am delighted to be working with them on many many more books.
I have to admit I like Aimee's version of Hades, and always thought he got short shrift in the legends. But Athena (though she was a bit stiff in some of the stories) was someone I always admired for her wisdom and independence...
Aimee,
Your hair does look beautiful! My favorite mythology is anything Celtic, to do with fairies and such. BUT if we are talking Greek mythology, I love the Sirens :) Can't wait to read your book!
PS. Rachel- If I Die cover is beautiful! I pre-ordered it last night and I am so anxious for it!
I absolutely love Greek mythology! It is so fascinating! My favorite would have to be Athena or Aphrodite. I am excited to read The Goddess Test. =) congratulations on selling another series and thank you for the opportunity to win a copy of The Goddess Test. Rachel is right, your hair is fantastic. Mine is so unruly and never looks good. Although that's probably how everyone feels most of the time.

I find greek mythology really interesting and Dionysus is one that i think we all worship him when we have a glass of wine and have a dance.
I love the look of your book and i'll have to go and get it now.
Your hair does look great in the photo.
I love Greek mythology and really loved this book, I really want a signed copy :)
After reading PC Cast version of Hades and Persephone I really like that story a lot and I like it when authors make it a happy story and not the sad story it is made out to be. One of the reasons why I didn't care too much for Percy Jackson was because of Hades character, I love the dark brooding caring character that just wants to take care of the souls in his domain.
I also love novels based around mythology. Lately, my interest has been in Celtic mythology, the Tuatha de Dannan, and the Celtic Underworld.
And Aimee, your books sounds amazing and your hair is awesome! :)
I love All Greek and Roman mythology. I read your book and loved it so much. thank you so much for writing it, it's one of the best books I've read in a long time. I can't wait for your next books, and by the way your hair is awesome.
I'm extremely eager for this novel. I absolutely adore greek mythology. One of my favorites is the story behind Hates and Persephone. I'm a romantic so this one just tugs.

I always loved the Children of Lir when I was younger and other Irish mythologies and folklores as well, my favourite greek deity is Athena, she just seems the best out of them all in my opinion! I love the idea of Hades being misjudged and wronged!
I have way too many favorites! Loki and Hermes are definitely two of them. I seem to have a soft spot for trickster types :)
Rather than romantic or heroic, the mythological character that always comes to mind is Sisyphus.
I believe his actions and subsequent punishment could serve as a lesson in any day.
This book is definitely on my buy list! And as for mythology, I'll have to go with Athena.
This book is on my wishlist, so I hope the contest is international as I'm in UK.:) Love the cover and as to answering the question - Loki is my favorite, love the name and the whole mischievous character.
Awesome! My favorite mythical story is Perseus and Medusa (gorgon style, not Percy Jackson style) A giant snake person just always seemed so cool
I like Perseus :)
And after watching "Clash of the Titans" (2010 film), I like him even more :))
Both of these series are quite intriguing!
It appears mythology has inspired many writers lately; I just read "Darkness Becomes Her" by Kelly Keaton which is 'Gods & Monsters' series #1. It had a very interesting premise on a certain myth - I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but you should read it.

I absolutely loooooove Greek mythology!! It was first introduced to me in 7th grade and ever since then--nearly 10 years eep!--I've loved it still! My fave goddess then and still is Artemis. She seemed like the tomboy--which I'm not at all!--and I just liked her. To me she had a feisty attitude and I liked her!
jessbess2505[at]yahoo[dot]com
I do have many Greek Mythology characters/storylines that I like, but I'm going to take this opportunity to speak of a different character, from Egyptian mythology. Bastet! Or just Bast. She's the goddess of cats :3 and I love my kitty's ^^ oh! And wonderful hair! :D
Aphrodite. I love how she is always sneaking around with Ares and how Hephestus is always trying to catch them. Can't wait to read the book!
Your book sounds awesome!
And I like Persephone. :)
Myself I love the celtic mythologies. My favorite would be The Morrighan.
I suppose I should say "Nyx" since I took on her name as my pen name, but in all actuality, Anubis and Bast have always been my favorite gods :D
I love Greek Mythology period. I can't choose one because their all intriguing. Aimee your hair looks amazing, wish mine looked that good. :)
I have been after this book since forever! I can't find it in my country so I enter every contest I found and never win, fingers crossed this time.
And Aimee your hair is beautiful! :)
I love the Persephone myth, too! But as for fav. mythology characters: I've recently red Greg van Eekhout's 'Norse Code' and I really liked his portrayal of Hermod, a very minor Norse god. I also like Isis and Minerva.
Hmm this is a tough one. I used to really be into Greek Mythology; all the gods and goddesses fascinated me and they still do. But I have to say my favorite mythological god/goddess is, well, the only goddess in Norse mythology which is Hela (or Hel). She's the goddess of the dead whose domain is Niflheim. I just think it's interesting that the only goddess in Nordic mythology is the goddess of death. Talk about giving women the short end of the stick. Anyway, awesome contest and I can't wait to read this one :) Thanks!
My favourite goddess has always been Demeter. One, she is the source/origin of my name and I have always loved the seasons which she is responsible for! I love The Goddess Test, especially Henry, and can't wait for Goddess Interrupted.
And yes, Aimee lokks beautiful in her picture!:)
I've always liked Hercules and Zeus!
And also, Aimee's hair is rocking!
xo
Lisa
I was never really fond of greek mythology, but Rick Riordan's made me see it in a new light. So I'm gonna say that my favorite grrek god is Dyonisus, only because Mr D is my favorite character in the Percy Jackson series.
I always enjoyed Odysseus' journey and how he reclaimed his wife back at the end.
And yes, Aimee's hair looks great;).
Ohhh I can't make my mind up RE: mythological creatures. They're all so interesting and broad and PELASE DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE!! I'm really excited to read this book! I've heard amazing things :D Thanks for doing this! *crosses fingers*
PS: Aimee, you look really, really pretty. I love your hair. <3
I love Greek mythology. My favorite goddesses would probably Artemis or Athena, but my heart lies with Cerebus as my fav of all greek mythology! I've always loved the story of Dadelus and Icarus though. Oh and I really enjoy any stories with the Furies!
I'm not sure I have a favorite b/c I love reading them all, but Hades is my favorite God (not including Athena and Artemis). I'd totally take over his kingdom in a heart beat! And your hair looks amazing in the picture!
I am from Greece and I love everything about my history but my favorite is "The Myth of Theseus and the Minotaur".
Thank you!!!
I like the goddess Calypso!!
thanks for the interview..i will definitely have to check out this book now!!
Aimee your hair does look amazing. If only I could style my own to look that good...
I really enjoy Greek mythology. I don't have anyone or anything in particular that is my favorite but I love learning about it.
iqb99@yahoo.com
I love Artemis! A girl who can kick some serious butt is great!
I just love the Promethevs-myth. It's nice to read about a greek god sacrificing himself for humans.
Thanks for the interesting interview and giveaway!
My favourite Greek goddess has always been Aphrodite! And yes, Aimee looks absolutely gorgeous in her authors picture! x)
Thanks for giving a chance to us international guys x)
ivaondrejkova@gmail.com
I'm also a really big fan of greek mythology! Though it all started for me with Wishbone's Odyssey. Then when I got older, I read one of the many variations of Homer's Odyssey and i'm still a major fan of the story! I have yet to read the Illiad though.
This book was already on my TBR list and I'm bumping to the top after reading this! Hope I win :)
Really haven't been into mythology but a bunch of books I like have been referring to it so I'm learning. I think the tytons are interesting.
I love the hair!
I love the story of Cupid and Psyche.
I like the Greek Olympian Gods but I kind of favor the Titans more. One Titan I really liked when I read about it in my Freshman English class during high school is Selene, Helios, and Mnemosyne.
I love mythology whether they're Greek, Roman, Celtic or Egyptian. But my favorite story is about Cupid and Psyche.
And, yes, Aimee's hair is magnifique.
I would have to say I like Pan. He's very mischievous in the myths!
It's so hard to pick only one favourite myth because I love so many! Especially Greek ones, although I am familiar with other kinds too. But I have to say that the Persephone/Demeter/Hades myth ranks in the top two :)
Still, out of all the Greek gods and goddesses, Athena is my favourite. Not only is she extremely intelligent, but she can handle her own in a battle and she's a strong-willed girl to boot! ;)
Aimee, you're hair does look great! You're SO pretty! You too, Rachel! My favourite part about having both of you incorporated into one post is that you each of you has this natural humor that makes your writing so interesting to read! :)
Thanks so much for the giveaway!
It's not Greek, but I've always been fascinated by Egyptian mythology, Anubis has always been a character of interest for me.
I've always been really interested in the 3 Fates. They're creepy, but I kind of like that :)
And Aimee, your hair is fabulous! That's the first thing I thought when I opened this post - this girl is gorgeous! Can't wait to read The Goddess Test.
I love Apollo!!!! He's so awesome in Percy Jackson with his Haiku obsession!!!:D Aimee's hair is awesome too;D
I agree that Athena is a noble member of the Olympians. That's why I write about her in my own fiction. I'll post my account of her meeting Persephone.
Congratulations on getting published!
I am pretty much in love with greek mythology- but Aphrodite is one of my faves. BTW- your hair is gorgeous!

I'm a fan of Greek and Celtic mythology.
The Goddess Test sounds just like my kinda book, can't wait to read it!
Greek mythology is awesome but mermaids and faeries are pretty awesome too. Wizards aren't too bad either!
I personally love the story of Persephone, it's tragic but I feel like she eventually gets her happy ending (:
Your hair looks great too (:
I love mythology and all of the Greek gods. My favorite characters would have to be the oracles tho. I love how they always speak in riddles. What they say always comes true just not always the way you think!
OMG!!!!!! completely dying to read your book!!! love the hair!!NO KIDDING! hehe and well...I've always liked Artemis:D ^^
thanks for the giveaway Rachel:D
Actually Hades & Persephone is my fave myth! It's dark, romantic, and dramatic exactly right for my tastes!
Thanks :)
I LOVE Athena. Something about her story really fascinates me. Oh, and Aimee's hair looks absolute gorgeous! :)
Oh my gosh, I love them all! Even the mean ones! I think Artemis is my favourite, but after saying that I'm scared of incurring the wrath of all the others...
Hmm, decisions, decisions...I love Greek Mythology, that's why I wanted to read the Goddess Test so much! Especially love reading books about Greek gods and goddesses!
And yes, your hair is awesome! ;)
I love mythology in general, and I read many of it, but my favorite is Nyai Roro Kidul, who is said to reside in the Southern Sea (of Java). She's a figure of a strong woman, even in the rigid Javanese culture, especially the keraton! Plus, she loves green, and I love green too...
JMarcheline13@hotmail.com
I know she is ment to be ugly but my famouse mythalogical creature is Medusa(if she is one can't remember!) And her hair is Awesome I wish I had hair like that!
My favorite goddess is Diana. I don't know why, it's just been like this since my first Latin lessons when I was twelve!
And your hair looks really awesome, Aimee!
I didn't participate earlier because it wasn't stated that it was international, but well, now...
I love all mythology, Greek, Norse, Egypt, Japan, Celtic, etc. I never study about myth in my school (and since I pick tech faculty in college), so I always search in Net. My favorite myth character are Athena (Greek goddess) and Morrigan (Celtic goddess)
For Aimee, your hair is soo.. beautiful, I want my hair like yours *lol*
I'm not very familiar with mythology so I can't name a favorite. But your hair does look beautiful! :0) I've never been able to grow my hair that long so I'm envious of your long locks.
Thanks!
I love Greek mythology and if I had to choose my faves would be Aphrodite. :)
Atalanta's story is the best. Tough girls able to look out for themselves never cease to please. Then again, the same can be said for any Greek mythology. Can't wait to read your book, Aimee!
Love all mythical beings! Love elementals, ogres, dragons ;) can't wait to read your series!
All the best to the both of you :)
Venus aka Planet V
Great interview. The Goddess Test sounds good. My favorite mythological character is Poseidon, god of the sea.
I like the goddess Nyx (who's in the House of Night series) and Aphrodite, since she's the goddess of love :) I also like Hades and Persephone, for they have an awesome story together (also inspired a new Meg Cabot book)...
Favorite would be Athena. Very well rounded. Goddess of wisdom, warfare, strength, justice, etc.
I love all mythology! The Greek and Celtic stories fascinate me most. I'm a sucker for anything relating to mythology or folk tales :)
I've always loved the Greek/Roman myths, but am interested in the Celtic myths, too.
I wish I had just great hair!
Despite the fact that I'm part Greek, my knowledge of deities is pathetic; unless you count Xena and Hercules. If you do, I'll take Cupid because Karl Urban is so drool worthy.
I've always liked Persephony and Hades' story, even before the book came out. LOL. I can't wait to see how Hades is portrayed by Aimee. :)
Thanks for the international opening.
cris_mv at hotmail dot com
Oh, thanks for the international part! LOL
My favorite mythological character is Adonis. *-* He is the handsome young man with whom Aphrodite fell in love. Who could blame her, right? ;)
And Aimee's hair DOES look awesome in the pic. LOL
kah_cherub at hotmail dot com
I can't choose which myth, they are all so great! But Hades is an awesome character!
I'm in Canada :)
My favourite goddess has always been Hestia! She is generous and kind and I think she's someone everyone can aspire to be a little more like. I loved your debut, Aimee (laptop... can't put in an accent aigu) and I would love a copy of my own!
Your hair is always gorgeous ;)
Sonia
I love Cupid and Psyche - especially when it's retold in East of the Sun, West of the Moon.
My favorite is athena too! Also from egyption mythology i really like Isis :)
I probably like Greek Mythology the best, if only because it's most popular and you almost have to learn to love it to enjoy a large portion of novels these days. And, your hair looks better than my hair! :)
Not really familiar with all of the mythological characters, but I have to agree with a poster about Cupid and Karl Urban and I love that somebody else mentioned Sisyphus! Every time I hear his name I think of Party Girl with Parker Posey and Liev Schrieber. Hilarious.
And Aimee, your hair looks awesome!
I love Perseus and Adriane. It's the one HAPPY tale of the lot - and I'm a sucker for HEA.
Serena
divyasriramn[AT]gmail.com
I love Ceridwen's story. And Aimee's hair. :)
Thanks for running this giveaway!
I think my favourite would have to be either Hermes or Dionysus!
I could not pass up on Aphrodite. There always seems to be an edge to this Goddess of Love.
oh wow! I want...yes aimee's hair looks AMAZING! my favorite myth is probably... well, I love all Greek myths, but I'll go with Pandora's box. its certanily interesting!
My favorite goddess would have to be Artemis, I've always loved her and her twin Apollo the best. And your hair is so pretty! I wish my hair was as dark as yours!
I have enjoyed the greek mythology that I have read. I don't know who would be my fave.....artemis, I think.
I like that the stories have been around for thousands of years, yet in these modern times we still find entertainment from them. Even more remarkable that we find the moral of (some) of the stories can be applied to life as we know it.
jennifer kjovus
kjovus(at)gmail(dot)com
I love all Greek mythology, but my favorite would have to be Athena. I want to be as smart as her!
I really like Greek mythology, although I like the Goddess Artemis, my favourites would have to be the Muses and Morpheus, the God of dreams.
OMG I love the story of persephone. I always felt sorry for hades he was sent down to the underworld with only wandering dead souls. Meanwhile his brothers are surrounded by people who love them and have statues made of them. I would have made somebody stay with me to If i were him. I also love artemis. She seems so kick a** to me, She can shoot a bow and arrow and she can hunt. Awesome!!! P.S Love your pic.
My favorite greek mythology character is Athena: goddess of wisdom. because she's smart and beautiful.
I love your hair! I wish my hair would curl like that! I hope win!! The Goddess Test looks amazing!
ur.bloody.valentine@hotmail.com
My favorite mythological character is Freya. First of all, she has amazing jewelry taste - everybody wants to steal the Brisengamen. She also receives half of the warriors who die in battle from the Valkyries, so she is like this cool den mother for Norse heroes. And she has great hair. Like Aimee! :)
Well my favorite is deff a tie. Between Apollo and Nymphs. Apollo is the name of my siberian husky :) I love the fact that he was prophetic and spiritual. And the fact that he was musical. Both are amazing. And Nymphs are incredible as well. Being able to turn into a tree or another aspect of nature. Being unobtainable. Deffinetly a win :)
Ahh! The Goddess Test has been on my wish list for forever!
I love Medusa. Snakes for hair anyone? Don't forget her looks kill. I love Aimee's hair and I'm sure Medusa would be totally jealous.
Picking a favorite myth is like picking a favorite piece of sand! Hmm... I think for this contest I shall go with... Brighid. I seriously think she's awesome. I also love Athena... I mean, who wouldn't? I could go on and on forever, but I think I'll end there.
Thanks for the giveaway! And yes, awesome hair! Looks similar to my own... though you have an inch or two on me. :)
One of my favourite mythological creatures has been the Naiads, Mermaids, and the Undine. Water spirits have always been a fascination of mine for as long as I can remember. With the love of the sea, and it’s beautiful hues. I do love the mythical goddess Aphrodite, with passion and romance, and love. These days’ fairytales and happily ever afters aren’t as believable as they used to be. And that is a shame.
I love the story of how Aphrodite chose her husband. It's kinda of sad but very touching, too bad she has to always cheat on him :( I also love Persephone's story which is why I cannot wait to read your new book! Thank you so much for having this contest!
P.S. I LOVE YOUR HAIR!!!!!
Hmm, I've always found Poseidon interesting, but I like Artemis, too. And I love the story behind Hades and Persephone. I think Greek mythology is fascinating!
favorite mythology person would be hades i would love to be the king or accualy queen of the under world and aimee's hair is so great
Love Artemis. I love it that she is all about girls and being independent and being their own person and not having to depend on men.
Aimee, your hair is very beautiful, and I love the color.
(Ok, first, my early comment hasn't appeared, so, if it does, ignore it.)
Love Artemis. I love it that she is all about girls being independent and being your own person and not relying on men. She is the one I remind myself of when I see girls with their boyfriends and I don't have one. She reminds me that I don't need one to complete me. :)
I have to agree with Miss Aimee and say that mine is also Hades and Peresphone but I also love Rick Riordan's modern takes on basically all the Greek (and now Roman) myths all in one!!!! The Godess Test looks really awesome!! I can't wait to read it :)
Can't really say I have a favorite myth, but I rather liked Prometheus and Demitheus's story. YOur hair does look awesome.
Your hair looks awesome in your photo I wish I could get mind that straight. Thanks for holding the contest.
One of my favorite myths is Perseus and Andromeda. Perseus is pretty much an awesome cat (who Athena happens to like a lot) and he save the beautiful Andromeda, though from what I'm told, her hair has nothing on yours. :]
Aimee's hair looks fanastic!
Thanks for the giveaway!
ala_tineh(at)hotmail(dot)com
Eros and Psyche's story always has been one of my favourites - not sure if they are my favourite mythological characters, but their story is one of my favourites.
Also - you do have wonderful hair. Seriously.
I love hearing about Greek Mythology and I absolutely love Aimee's hair!! too too cute!
twimom101(@)yahoo(.)com
I don't know much about Greek Mythology, but do love your hair! Lol... I can't wait to read your other series too!
Ooh, so hard to pick a favorite! I love Celtic and Norse mythology so I'll have to go with... Loki, the Norse god of chaos. I love the idea of trickster gods and goddesses and I love Loki most of all. :)
Can't wait to read this book!!
My favorite stories, well, it's a tie between the story about Cupid/Eros and Psyche and Theseus and the Minotaur. As for favorite character in mythology it has to be Artemis hands down.
Fabulous hair, and for me it's hard to pick a favorite as I do love mythology.
Great interview :)
I don´t really know much about mythology. Though I got a book about Greek mytology I bought when I was on a vacation. But never got to read it. Not yet anyways. But enjoys stories with gods and godesses anyway :)
Please count me in for the international giveaway :)

I'm not familiar with Greek Mythology but after reading The Goddess Test, you have certainly piqued my interest Aimée! I got some books on it so I can start learning. :)
I would LOVE to win a signed copy of The Goddess Test since it's my new favorite book and Aimée has definitely become one of my new favorite authors!
My favorite myth was always Persephone's. I found Hades to be very interesting and intriguing. Also, your hair is awesome. :)
I am super eager to read this book since I have heard it recommended so many times.
Sad I wont be able to get the signed one (but having Rachel sign it would be awesome and unique) since I am in the UK. Hope I win!
I love Irish mythology. Cú Chulainn and the Táin Bó Cúailgne; all the stories I used to read as a child.
My favorite mythological character has always been Athena. (I'm not a copycat! It's true!) She is smart and independent, which kind of describes me, and she has beauty thrown in to boot. Athena can also hold her own in battle. And in the official author picture, your hair looks quite excellent, and I love your shirt too.
Hey Aimee's hair looks seriously fabulous in her author photo! :)
I absolutely love Greek mythology, so I'd probably say Persephone. Only because I loved her character in P.C. Cast's Goddess of Spring! And I've always thought her and Hades' story were kind of tragic, but maybe that's just me. It's why I love The Goddess Test!
I've always loved the story of Demeter and Persephone. Nothing's more powerful than a mother's love for her child! I must say your title caught my eye before I popped over to this site. I read someone's tweet and she mentioned your book. I can't wait to read it! All the best to you.
My favorites are Cupid and Psyche.
I'm unfamiliar with mythology, but I can't wait to read your book!
Your hair is so pretty, btw! :)
I aways felt sorry for Hades, wished he could have found someone who would stick around all year. I wanted my own Cerberus too.
Can't wait to read this one!

My favorite mytholofy is Medusa. I can actually imagine a person with snakes in their hair. Very scary.
Your hair is a lush brown wave flowing like a waterfall. And is pretty enough to attract butterflies : )
